1. Meaning of Measurement in Science

Measurement in science is the process of determining the size, quantity, or amount of an object or substance using standard units.

It helps scientists to get accurate and reliable results during experiments.


2. Measurement of Length

Meaning of Length

Length is the distance between two points or the measurement of how long an object is.

Instruments for Measuring Length:

  • Ruler
  • Tape measure
  • Meter rule
  • Measuring tape

Standard Unit of Length:

  • Metre (m)
  • Centimetre (cm)
  • Kilometre (km)

Examples:

  • Length of a desk

Meaning of Mass
