Introduction
Energy is very important in our daily lives. Every activity we carry out requires energy. Humans, animals, machines, and even plants depend on energy to function.
Without energy, nothing can move, grow, or work.
Energy exists in different forms and can change from one form to another.
Meaning of Energy
Energy is the ability to do work.
Work in science means the movement of an object or the change in position of a body.
Importance of Energy
Energy is important because it:
- Helps humans and animals to move
- Makes machines work
- Produces heat and light
- Supports growth in living things
- Enables communication (radio, TV, phones)
- Drives industrial activities
Forms of Energy
There are several forms of energy. The major ones include:
- Heat energy
- Light energy
- Sound energy
- Electrical energy
- Chemical energy
1. Heat Energy
Heat energy is the form of energy that causes temperature rise or warmth.
Examples:
- Sunlight

2. Light Energy
Light energy is the form of energy that enables us to see things.
