Introduction
In our daily activities, we apply force when we push or pull objects. When force is applied, it can make an object move, stop, change direction, or change shape.
Motion is the movement of objects from one place to another.
Force and motion are important in understanding how objects behave in our environment.
Meaning of Force
Force is a push or pull acting on an object that can make it move, stop, change direction, or change shape.
Types of Force
- Muscular force
- Gravitational force
- Frictional force
- Magnetic force
- Electrical force
1. Muscular Force
Force produced by muscles in humans and animals.
Examples:
- Lifting a bag
- Pushing a table
2. Gravitational Force
Force that pulls objects toward the earth.
Example:

Force that opposes motion between two surfaces.

- A moving car slowing down
- Rubbing hands together
4. Magnetic Force
Force exerted by magnets.
